National Parks and Public Lands

Our public lands: national parks and wildlife refuges, state lands and local parks are ideal ways that we connect with God's creation. These lands, held in trust for the common good, also provide us the opportunity to be good stewards.

Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is a unique place in God's Creation and a national treasure that embodies wilderness, ecological integrity, sacred beauty and unique recreational opportunities. The Arctic Refuge's Coastal Plan is a vital part of a larger ecosystem that supports a diverse biological landscape as well as the Gwich'in, an indigenous people who depend on the Porcupine Caribou herd for their daily sustenance. National Parks and Monuments

National monuments, designated through the use of the Antiquities Act by both Republican and Democrat presidents, protect places of ecological and cultural importance. National monuments showcase some of creation's best treasures and in some cases provide opportunities for religious communities and indigenous communities to practice their faith. Protecting national monuments is an act of stewarding God's creation.
