Selected Scripture Passages
Christ and creation
Colossians 1:15-20 (NIV)
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
over all creation. For by him all things were
created: things in heaven and on earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones or powers or
rulers or authorities; all things were created
by him and for him. He is before all things,
and in him all things hold together. And he
is the head of the body, the church; he is the
beginning and the firstborn from among the dead,
so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness
dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to
himself all things, whether things on earth
or things in heaven, by making peace through
his blood, shed on the cross.
God the Creator
Revelation 4:11 (NAB)
"Worthy are you, Lord our God, to receive
glory and honor and power, for you created all
things; because of your will they came to be
and were created."

Destroying
those who destroy the earth
Revelation 11:18 (NRSV)
The nations raged,
but your wrath has come,
and the time for judging the dead,
for rewarding your servants, the prophets
and saints and all who fear your name,
both small and great,
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.
New Heaven and New Earth
Revelation 21:1-2, 22:1-2 (NIV)
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for
the first heaven and the first earth had passed
away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw
the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down
out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride
beautifully dressed for her husband. . . .
Then the angel showed me the river of the water
of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the
throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle
of the great street of the city. On each side
of the river stood the tree of life, bearing
twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every
month. And the leaves of the tree are for the
healing of the nations.
