Sowing Seeds of Hope

Trees are an integral part of God’s creation. They bring countless critical benefits to communities and to our environment. Trees add wonder and beauty to neighborhoods, provide energy savings to homes and buildings, offer shelter and habitat to God’s beloved plants and animals, minimize flooding, and support human health by reducing air pollution, mitigating extreme heat, and creating peaceful environments that reduce stress and lower blood pressure.

Trees also hold deep spiritual value.
They show up in holy stories, from Genesis to Revelation, and tell of a faith built on firm foundations, rooted in good soil. Trees have something to say about who God is and who we are called to be: stewards of creation and promoters of justice. More than anything, planting trees is an act of hope. It says we are here to stay in this place – to steward this land, to care for our neighbors, and to plant seeds for a future not just our own, but one that belongs to us all.
