CenterEdge Project cont.

Connecticut Catholic Conference

All of this activity and networking let to the issuance of a pastoral statement from the Connecticut Catholic bishops called, "Common Ground, Common Good: Toward Greater Social, Economic, and Environmental Justice in Connecticut". It was announced to an audience of over 1,000 Catholics by Archbishop Daniel Cronin at Catholic Day (an annual event at the state Capitol). The focus of the event that day was to meet with each members of Connecticut’s legislature and advocate for an environmental justice bill. The statement was also emailed to every Catholic pastor in the state.

Efforts by the Catholic Conference of Connecticut to reduce sprawl, improve water quality and promote environmental justice continue today.
