Decisions that affect God’s creation and people’s well-being are made at all levels of society, from individuals and families, to businesses and corporations, to government legislators and officials. When Christians speak to their neighbors, officials, and others about how public actions and policies impact the earth and its inhabitants, they are caring for creation in their role as citizens of a democracy.
Grounded in biblical faith and values, evangelicals have spoken out on environmental health and justice, energy and climate change, endangered species and properly balancing property rights and stewardship. They have reminded their fellow citizens and elected representatives of our responsibility as a society to protect creation and care for the poor and the vulnerable, especially children.
