Faith & Film: Dark Waters

Films such as "Dark Waters" can help launch discussions about faith and environmental issues such as environmental health and toxic chemicals. "Dark Waters," a story about a lawyer and a farmer, both men of faith, highlights how a dark secret kept by a chemical company threatened the health of a community and eventually the world. The movie uncovers injustice and is a good launching point to talk about faith, justice and toxic chemicals.

NRPE has developed a discussion guide to be used with groups after viewing the film.  Please consider hosting a screening event to learn more about forever chemicals and ways we can work together to eliminate these harmful substances. Viewing and discussion events are wonderful ways to gather in faith and fellowship and take action together for the health of all God's creation.

Take Action: Urge Congress to Regulate PFAS

As a person of faith concerned about human health, God's creation and the common good, I am alarmed by the presence of "forever chemicals" in our food and water. These chemicals have been linked to serious health risks like cancer and thyroid disease. I urge you to use your voice and vote to enact safer environmental protections and work to remove "forever chemicals" from our products, waterways and food.

    Sincerely,
